How to Create an Artist Account on Culturalyst

Creating an artist account on Culturalyst is the first step toward showcasing your work and connecting with your local cultural community. Follow this simple guide to set up your account quickly and start benefiting from the platform.

Step 1: Visit the Sign-Up Page

Navigate to the Culturalyst website.
Click the Sign Up button located at the top-right corner of the homepage. Or click on the link below to go directly to your city's specific sign-up page:

Step 2: Fill Out the Sign-Up Form, Step by Step

Email Address & Password* (Ensure it meets the platform’s security requirements.)
Handle/Username* (Choose a unique username for your profile.)
Account Type* (Select Artist as your account type.)
Portfolio Page or External Link: You'll get to choose between wanting to link your directory card to your own website or social media property or get a free, search-engine-optimized portfolio page that will live at culturalyst.com/yourUsername. You can always change your mind later.

Once you’ve filled out the form, click the Create Account button.

Step 3: Complete Your Profile

After creating your account, log in and complete your artist profile:

Once you've signed up, you'll be automatically taken to the the Edit Profile section, where you'll need to change your Cover Photo and Profile Photo in order to be able to publish.
Depending on whether you choose a portfolio page or an external link, the number of required fields will change. See below for a list of fields, some of which will be required regardless.
- About*
  - Name*
  - Bio/Artist Statement*
  - CV*
  - Zipcode
  - Gender pronouns
  - Race/ethnicity
  - Teaching Artist
  - Languages written/spoken
  - Languages incorporated into work
- Discipline*
  - Medium
  - Genre
  - Subgenre
  - Instrument
- Work*
  - You're required to upload at least two pieces of work. Work types can be audio, images, video, and PDFs.
    Note: for PDFs, you'll have the option of adding a cover photo to the PDF
- Tags
  - You can select from a number of tags that describe you
- Links
  - You can link existing web properties (personal website, social media, ecommerce stores, etc)
- Payment Methods
  - You can link any number of payment options, which will show up your portfolio page if someone clicks the "Support" button.

Click Save on the bottom right-hand corner of your account to save your work.

Step 4: Publish

When you've filled out the required information, hit the "Publish" button when you're ready to go live. Exciting!
If you have questions about what fields are missing or why your Publish button is not illuminated, click the ? mark icon next to the button to see a list of fields that are missing.

Additional Tips

Some cities on CULTURALYST may require entering a zip code during sign-up. If prompted, ensure that you provide the correct zip code for your location.
If you forget your password, you can reset it using the Forgot Password link on the login page.
