How to Post an Opportunity on Culturalyst

Posting an opportunity on Culturalyst allows you to share events, grants, jobs, or other resources with your community and beyond. Follow this guide to learn how to post an opportunity effectively.

Step 1: Navigate to the Opportunity Section

  1. Log in to your Culturalyst account.

  2. Click the Menu (top right),then Manage Opportunities

  3. Select the Post Opportunity button to begin.


Step 2: Fill Out the Opportunity Form

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required and must be completed to proceed. Here’s a breakdown of the form fields:

  • Opportunity Title*: Provide a clear and concise title for your opportunity.

  • Description*: Describe the opportunity in detail, including eligibility, requirements, and important details.

  • Type*: Select the type of opportunity (e.g., Grant, Job, Workshop, Residency).

  • Application Deadline*: Set a date for when applications close.

  • Contact Information*: Provide an email or phone number for inquiries.


Step 3: Set the Scope of Your Opportunity

The Scope field determines the visibility of your opportunity. You have two main options:

  1. Scope: Select from one of the following visibility options:

    • Local Community: Post the opportunity to your immediate community.

    • Statewide: Make the opportunity visible across your state.

    • USA: Share the opportunity nationally within the United States.

    • International: Share the opportunity globally.

  2. Specific Communities: Customize the visibility by selecting specific communities:

    • Use the dropdown menu to search for and select communities.

    • You can select multiple communities to tailor the reach of your opportunity.


Step 4: Review and Publish

  1. Once you’ve filled out all required fields and set the scope, review your opportunity details.

  2. Click the Preview Opportunity button to see how it will appear to users.

  3. If everything looks good, click the Publish Opportunity button.

  4. Note: some arts agencies require approval before your opportunity will post publicly. You can track the status of your opportunity from within your Manage Opportunity dashboard.


Additional Tips

  • Editing Opportunities: After publishing, you can edit your opportunity by navigating to the Opportunities section and selecting the post you want to update.


Congratulations! You’ve successfully posted an opportunity on Culturalyst. Your opportunity is now visible to your selected audience.
